Helping achieve record price for Dulwich Hill resident

The owners at Dulwich Hill had owned their property for 14 years and had decided they wanted to sell. They needed to get it ready for sale with a goal of improving its value over an 18 month period through various projects.

The Challenge

The owners at Dulwich Hill had owned their property for 14 years and had decided they wanted to sell. They needed to get it ready for sale with a goal of improving its value over an 18 month period through various projects.

At Your Service’s Approach

We appointed Viking Designs as the contract landscapers and worked collaboratively with them and the owners. We started the project by excavating the block, building tiers to level it out. We also added a firepit area as an additional selling point. We cleared the mess in the yard, the asbestos shed was removed, along with old paving and wooden decking that had deteriorated. After we had transformed the property, and whilst the house was on the market, we helped to keep the gardens in pristine condition, and timed our maintenance services so they were just prior to the open houses.

The Result

As a result, the house ended up selling above what was originally expected (achieving a record price) and the owners were thrilled.

Keeping 90+ year old Eleanor’s Sutherland home and garden a beautiful place to live

Through the government HomeCare packages (HCP) program, our partners Australian Unity help keep older Aussies at home.

Whilst Eleanor loved her garden, like a lot of ageing Australians she was struggling to clean her gutters & mow the lawn. Through the HCP program, Eleanor was able to receive the help she needed and through Australian Unity, the At Your Service team was brought in to assist.

The Challenge

Because Eleanor wasn’t able to mow her lawn and maintain her garden, it needed an initial tidy up with regular maintenance required on an ongoing basis. She also found it difficult to arrange trade services for window cleaning and gutter cleaning.

At Your Service’s Approach

Eleanor’s dedicated At Your Service concierge spent time with her to better understand her needs.

Our concierge set up a regular garden maintenance program for Eleanor with our experienced Horticulturist, Jamie to help with the garden side of things. Eleanor has even been able to pass on some of her gardening wisdom to Jamie (which included regular cups of tea of course!). We also planned and coordinated our home maintenance/trade team to help with the window cleaning & regular gutter cleaning.

The Result

We were able to take an unusable & unsightly space and create a beautiful, functional space that also added value & usefulness to John & Veronique’s home.

Ongoing, the At Your Service team provides ongoing monthly maintenance to their garden to keep the space looking great.

Genevieve downsizes her family Oyster Bay home ready for the next stage of life

Genevieve had a plan to downsize with an aim to move in one year. She wanted the house to look its best – to increase the value where possible so she could get a good price to help set her up for her next home.

The Challenge

Busy getting the house ready, Genevieve didn’t have the time to keep the house and garden looking its best leading up to listing the house for sale. The garden was largely unkempt so a lot of work was required there, and the front yard didn’t have a lot of street appeal so wasn’t very inviting for prospective buyers.

At Your Service’s Approach

Our team set to work straight away in the garden with Genevieve realising the value of investing in regular maintenance & landscaping 12 months out from sale. We brought in specialists including landscape builders, Viking Designs and an expert arborist – Lilyvale Tree Services to complete specific aspects of the project. Over the 12 month period we completely transformed Genevieve’s garden, making it as presentable as possible for the sale. This included a new native front garden featuring stone stepping & a unique timber letterbox to improve the street appeal. Leading up to the sale, we did a final tidy and spruce up – pruning the hedges along with some minor house maintenance to get it looking its very best.

The Result

Genevieve’s house sold above what was originally expected. She was very happy with the outcome and was pleased to be well set up for the next chapter in her life.

Story

Busy professionals John & Veronique from Oyster Bay, transform their unusable backyard to suit their architecturally designed home

When John & Veronique originally purchased their property in 2013, the backyard was in a very unkept state.

As busy, working professionals they didn’t have the time or skills to transform the space. Their home was a beautiful architecturally designed home that was very attractive from the front however quickly turned to an unkept, unusable space in the backyard. Originally they wanted to expand & build an extension however given the challenging space they wanted it to be accessible and have some kind of function.

The Challenge

The backyard at John & Veronique’s property was very steep, unsightly & had been unusable for many years. It was also overrun with the hard-to-eradicate weed – Morning Glory.

At Your Service’s Approach

John & Veronique engaged At Your Service in 2019 to help. Over 6 months we were able to get the weeds under control. We then planted out a native bush garden and established a great space for entertaining including a fire pit area, decking & wooden seating – all accessible via informal paths and glass balustrades with feature lights.

The Result

We were able to take an unusable & unsightly space and create a beautiful, functional space that also added value & usefulness to John & Veronique’s home.

Ongoing, the At Your Service team provides ongoing monthly maintenance to their garden to keep the space looking great.
